Feeling super exhausted..!
After going to bed around 4am last night, my mom and I woke up at 11 o'clock, and the rest of my family a bit later. We had planned to head up to Beaverton and Vancouver for the day, but not necessarily for exciting endeavors...
First, we headed off to Restaurant Depot (wheee!!!) to buy some materials/fill up stock at my parent's coffee shop. From there, my dad was really craving some clams and other sushi so we headed up briefly across the Gorge to Vancouver to grab lunch/dinner at Makoto Japanese buffet. Of course, as all buffets go (especially if you're Asian...), you have to eat as much as you physically can without suffocating, and we did just that! We were (are?!) all stuck in food comas and it's still hard to breathe... (I will leave a little blurp about awkward waitresses...huehue)
After, my dad was supposed to meet his old childhood buddy in front of H-Mart (Korean grocery store, if you're not familiar!) for a quick chat, so we doubled up and did our home grocery shopping there. After we were all checked out and waiting for the guy, we get a phone call from him saying to meet him at a different address. [First of all, sounds SO SKETCHY] We slightly hesitantly agreed, but we were worried because of the time restraints. We had to get home pretty early since it's Sunday and my parents had to work tomorrow! After a 30 minute drive, we finally reach a house that is slanted to the side by about 10°. As we entered, there was lots of chaos and chatter. Crazy Korean ahjummas, ahjusshis, and a random Mexican family out of the blue, kids and all. (Totes not being racist!) After being ignored, forced to eat, sitting there awkwardly for hours, pretending to be interested/okay with everything that was going on, and enduring very rude conversations, we FINALLY left at around 9:15. AKA Too late o'clock. Grrrr.... my mom still insists on cooking dinner...but everyone's so tired, especially her, I just wish she'd get some good rest!
I hope all of you sleep well tonight too, and I will talk to you all very soon!! 😀😪

Blurb on awkward waitresses as promised!
If you're ever in Vancouver and crave Japanese cuisine and sushi, try out Makoto! This isn't a plug, I just want you to experience the very awkward waitresses they have working there! They literally do not speak, and don't make eye contact, they take plates without consent and walk away unapologetically if you tell them you were still working on it, and ultimately, they try to keep a comfortable distance from you at all times... 😂 that's it for a little blab from my experience today!! ^^ Bye bye for now~~
